Information about motorised integral blinds

Integral blinds are the ideal choice for any modern window or door. Integral blinds can be used in bifolding doors, sliding doors, windows and entrance doors. They can even be used in conservatories and high-level windows.

One of the popular methods of controlling integral blinds is with a motorised operation.

Bifolding doors with many panels can benefit from a motorised integral glass blind.

The significant advantage of adding a motorised option to an integral blind is more flexibility and choice in how the blinds are controlled.

Choosing a motorised integral blind is also a great solution for large blinds as well as high-level blinds, making them more convenient in use.

For integral blinds, there are several options available. These range from a simply hard-wired push button operation, solar powered, touch screen and even home automation via an app.

The other advantage to motorised integral blinds is that you can control one or several blinds at the same time. For example, in a six-panel bifolding door all six blinds can open and close together or sets of blinds. Any motorised option will raise, lower and tilt the blinds as required. If the blinds have a solar sensor they can close automatically as daylight levels drop, or they can be programmed separately for set times of the day. They can also be overridden and operated manually on demand.

Motorised and automatic integral blinds use a 24V DC motors that are quiet and very reliable. There are even battery operated options that remove the need for hard wiring. Battery operation also provides a solution if a retro-fitted blind is positioned a distance from a convenient power point.

As home automation apps become more popular, it is also possible to control the opening and closing of blinds in the home from a smartphone or tablet. These can also be connected to lighting, security systems and multi-media systems as well.

The MB System from Morley Glass enables push button control of Screenline and Pellini integral blinds.  The technolgy used is of the highest quality, providing electric brushless motors to operate the blind between the double glazed unit. Any 20mm, 22mm or 27mm unit can accept the motorise Morley MB System.
