Renegade Conservatory Guy Blog Closes.

Matthew Glover announced on twitter on 14th June that his blog had closed.

The Renegade Conservatory Guy Blog has closed down with a message from Matthew Glover on the holding page.  Matthew says:

Renegade Conservatory Guy

After 4 years of writing this blog I have decided it is time to close it down with immediate effect.

This website has been very kind to me, and I have made countless friends and business contacts over this period of time. I would like to thank all the people who have read and contributed to the discussions on the various blog posts which at the time I felt were important enough to write about.

But, I feel it is time to move on. It can be quite time consuming writing interesting content, and more recently I have felt that I have little to say which might be of interest to readers. The FIT Show is taking a lot of my time and i’m enjoying the challenge of bringing back an industry show that the window, door and conservatory industry can be proud of. I’m also still involved with Conservatory Outlet and supporting the management team to grow this leading trade supplier.

And, crucially, my two boys are at an age where they need their Dad to be involved, taking them to football training, playing golf and so on.

I am still active on Twitter so to keep in touch please follow me at:!/RenegadeGuy

I was a reader of Matthew’s Blog for a long time and it’s fair to say he was the first for the window industry.  The blog encouraged healthy debate (especially the many comments on the DGCOS etc).  It also proved that the industry is not “boring”. There is much to say in this Billion pound industry.

Matthew is absolutely right in his comment about the time it takes to keep a blog or website going, especially if you have a “proper” job as I like to call it.  Creative juices can sometimes dry up and those of us who keep such websites know how frustrating it can be when you feel you need to put something live on a daily basis but other pressures prevent you from doing so.

I only had a minor involvement with conservatory outlet but I know that Matthew is well known in the industry, his articles were always well written, his SEO focus is to be admired as is the marketing effort from him and his team.

Good luck Matthew in all your other projects, especially the FiT show and wish you every success.

So. This really only leaves two regular dedicated industry websites and blogs. and can now fight for pole position!! Bring it on!

A shame that the pioneer (I think) of blogs for double glazing has closed his site. He is the reason that sites like this exist. Good luck to him and his future ventures!

Now Nick, let the battle commence!

Well done to both of you with your blogs. I couldn’t possibly compete with your enthusiasm, and I look forward to quietly keeping my eye on your views.

    All the best.
